Po­lice are on the high­way near Gol­con­da where the body of an ab­duct­ed man was found in a ve­hi­cle around 10:30 a.m.

Hours ear­li­er Win­ston Thomas, 69, a pen­sion­er, had been robbed and kid­napped from his Pe­nal home by His­pan­ic as­sailants.  

Po­lice re­ceived in­for­ma­tion that Thomas's ve­hi­cle, a white B15 Nis­san,  was parked along the North­bound lane of the Solomon Ho­choy High­way near Gol­con­da. The right side of the tyre was blown out.

High­way Pa­trol of­fi­cers re­spond­ed and ob­served his body cov­ered in blood in the back seat. He had a stab wound to the head and his hands were tied be­hind his back.

Short­ly af­ter 2 am, the po­lice re­ceived a re­port that Thomas of Ali Av­enue, Pe­nal Rock Road,  was beat­en by sev­er­al men be­lieved to be Span­ish-speak­ing na­tion­als and forced in­to the back seat of his car.

The men al­so placed a TV and a red 20lb gas tank in the back seat and then drove off.

The po­lice searched ex­ten­sive­ly on Pe­nal Rock Road, Morne Di­a­blo, Seemu­n­gal Trace, Scott's Road and Bun­see Trace.

Of­fi­cers of the South­ern  Di­vi­sion, South West­ern Di­vi­sion and Of­fi­cers of the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions are on the scene.
