A 40 -year- old Ari­ma man was shot dead on Wednes­day in Ari­ma.

The vic­tim was iden­ti­fied as Ryan Pitt.

Po­lice said he left his home around 5:30 pm to pur­chase dou­bles when while dri­ving his pan­el van along La Re­treat Road, Heights of Gua­napo, Ari­ma, a white Nis­san AD Wag­on blocked the van. Two men came out of the wag­on and opened fire on Pitt’s ve­hi­cle.

Mem­bers of the North­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force East was called to the scene by passers-by, how­ev­er, Pitt was al­ready dead.

Pitt's mur­der brought the mur­der count to 450.

Farmer shot pro­tect­ing wife

A 57-year-old farmer, who was con­front­ed by ban­dits while in his gar­den in Waller­field was shot and wound­ed when he at­tempt­ed to save his wife.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, around noon on Tues­day, the farmer was at his gar­den off Mex­i­co Road when he was con­front­ed by three armed masked men who an­nounced a hold-up.

The men at­tempt­ed to take the farmer in­to his home, but while on the way there he al­leged­ly called out to his wife and told her to run for safe­ty.

The men be­gan to as­sault the farmer, who man­aged to es­cape from their grip and at­tempt­ed to run away but was shot in his left leg.

As the farmer col­lapsed on the ground po­lice said the three ban­dits ran away.

The po­lice were no­ti­fied and a team of of­fi­cers led by Sgt Am­mon re­spond­ed.

The farmer was tak­en to the Ari­ma Hos­pi­tal where he was treat­ed.
