With the accelerated trend of Cloud-based operations, Bmobile has joined forces with leading cybersecurity company, Fortinet, to improve their cybersecurity infrastructures for customers.
Details follow in this press release from bmobile:
Data networking and cyber security have become necessary to the functioning of modern society. And with the continued shift to Cloud-based applications and computing, the focus for many data providers is ensuring that their clients’ information is secure and accessible, 24/7.
Corporate customers and officials of bmobile, Trinidad and Tobago’s national telecommunications provider, joined representatives of California-based leading cyber security company Fortinet to announce the formal partner agreement bringing Fortinet’s Security Fabric into the bmobile business suite of networking services and security framework. This collaboration will allow bmobile Business’s clients to further enhance their own infrastructure bringing new levels of cyber security and networking optimization that are fast becoming the norm for modern businesses that are looking to move to the cloud.
The Fortinet Security Fabric continuously assesses network risks and automatically adjusts to provide comprehensive real-time protection across the digital attack surface and cycle. Powered by FortiOS, the Fabric is the industry’s highest-performing integrated cybersecurity mesh platform with the broadest open ecosystem. Fortinet secures some of the largest enterprise, service providers, and government organizations around the globe and ranks number one in the most security appliances shipped worldwide with a total of more than 565,000 customers.
Gilbert Perez, Regional Sales Manager for Fortinet in the English-speaking Caribbean, detailed this further, “Today, a large part of global organizations utilizes Fortinet to connect their various company (physical) sites. It can be as few as 10 sites or, in large companies with over 1000 sites. These companies all use SD-WAN (Software-defined Wide Area Network), instead of dedicated circuits, which are very expensive to maintain. This provides a more cost-effective system with a better experience for the customer,” Perez explained. “SD-WAN prioritizes traffic that is mission-critical for an organization depending on the business. So, if internal video is critical for the company, it has processes that then help prioritize this network traffic.”
Fortinet is a leading developer of Secure SD-WAN that’s ‘been delivering SD-WAN, since before it was even called SD-WAN,’ according to Perez. Secure SD-WAN uses a centralized control function to securely and intuitively direct traffic across the Wide Area Network. This results in a better overall end-user experience, improved application performance, and increased business productivity with reduced costs for IT. Perez noted that this is a significant game-changer for bmobile Business customers and added that his company’s level of commitment and confidence is high. “bmobile is an important partner for us and we want to be able to grow, so we are supporting them with established and dedicated team members based right here in T&T to drive these solutions to market in a reliable and fully supported way,” he added.
Darryl Duke, General Manager Enterprise Services (Ag.), TSTT, is anticipating the needs of the telecom company’s customers, pointing out that ‘as more companies move into the Cloud and more into the digital world, they have to ensure that they have cost-effective solutions for connectivity and security.’ Duke noted that this is precisely what the alliance with Fortinet brings in one SaaS (Software as a Service) solution. “We know that bmobile customers fully put their trust into our hands as we work to support their needs and requirements in the digital transformation age, so we want to ensure that this trust is always switched on and we are confident that this platform that we are bringing into the bmobile network will enhance that trust as we move customers to a different level with reliable solutions like Fortinet’s SD-WAN,” Duke added.
bmobile has the distinction of having the only TIA-942-B, DCOS maturity level 3 and SOC Type 2 certified data center in Trinidad and Tobago and the region. This combination of certifications is critical to the uptime of their operations as much as it is for their clients in the Caribbean that leverage this highly rated facility. The fully redundant data centre, along with bmobile SD-WAN and Fortinet offerings, represent the best-in-class data solutions for companies in T&T and the wider Caribbean that are embarking on deepened digital transformation solutions. bmobile Business offers corporate and government-level solutions and several service solutions for small and medium businesses. These include a wide range of Cloud-based services inclusive of Infrastructure and Business Continuity, Unified Communications and networking services such as Managed Wi-Fi, Dedicated Internet, and MPLS, and of course mobile broadband and security offerings.
