A 26-year-old man died early yesterday morning after his tyre blew out and his vehicle crashed into a lamp post along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway in Freeport.
The victim was identified as Justin Ramdhan of Cedar Hill Road, Claxton Bay.
Ramdhan worked at the Immigration Division in Port-of-Spain and was on his way home from a work function, relatives said.
According to a police report, Ramdhan’s vehicle—a white Suzuki sedan—spun out of control before slamming into a post around 6 am.
After the impact, the vehicle landed in a ditch off the highway.
Ramdhan died on the scene.

Grieving relatives went to the scene and broke down in tears.
Ramdhan’s sister described her brother as a “genuine soul who was very loving and kind.”
“He was a good-hearted person who loved his family and was always there for his friends. He always kept his promises and took me out for my graduation. He was loved by all and we would miss him very much.”
