Po­lice of­fi­cers shot and killed one sus­pect, wound­ed an­oth­er, and ar­rest­ed a third af­ter an at­tempt­ed rob­bery of a wa­ter de­liv­ery truck on Aranguez Main Road yes­ter­day.

Po­lice said around 1 pm the dra­ma be­gan af­ter de­liv­ery men from Blue Wa­ters parked the truck along the main road.

Two men, one armed, jumped in­to the truck, at­tempt­ing to rob them. The dri­ver and the de­liv­ery man be­gan to strug­gle with the two sus­pects. Of­fi­cers of the In­ter-Agency Task Force who were pa­trolling near­by heard the com­mo­tion and ran to the scene. 

One of­fi­cer saw the sus­pects run­ning south along Aranguez Main Road and called on them to stop. How­ev­er, one of them opened fire on the of­fi­cer who shot back.

More of­fi­cers in a marked po­lice ve­hi­cle al­so re­spond­ed.

Po­lice said a sil­ver AD wag­on pulled up along­side the sus­pects as they were run­ning away and they got in­side. 

How­ev­er, po­lice of­fi­cers con­tin­ued pur­su­ing the sus­pects and man­aged to in­ter­cept the ve­hi­cle they were in. There was an ex­change of gun­fire be­tween the of­fi­cers and one of the sus­pects, re­sult­ing in one of the sus­pects be­ing fa­tal­ly shot by po­lice.

The oth­er two sus­pects ex­it­ed the ve­hi­cle and fled. How­ev­er, their es­cape was short-lived, as they were even­tu­al­ly cap­tured. One of them was shot and in­jured.

The dead sus­pect is yet to be iden­ti­fied.
