Several high powered rifles were discovered during an anti-crime exercise in the Four Roads district by officers of the Western Division yesterday.
The exercise supervised by Snr Supt Aguilal, Supt Thompson and ASP Henry was executed by Sgts Forde-Jack and Brisbane and included officers of the Western Division Task Force (WDTF), Western Division Criminal Investigations Department (WD/CID), Special Branch, WD Crime Scene Unit and Canine Branch.
Guardian Media understands that the officers acted on intelligence received and went to a forested area off Union Road, Four Roads, Diego Martin where they carried out an extensive search and found eight AR 15 rifles.
The weapons were removed by officers. However, no arrests were made.
