The Galleons Passage was expected to arrive in Cuba yesterday. According to the National Infrastructure Development Company Ltd (Nidco), the vessel has completed approximately 500 nautical miles since departing Panama on May 23, en route to Cuba.
Officials said the vessel made its way through the last locks of the Canal at approximately 5 am on Wednesday, bringing to an end the seven-day transit through Panama.
Modifications were made to the pilot boarding station on board as requested by the Panama Canal Authority.
While in Cuba, the vessel will undergo retrofitting works to enhance utility, passenger comfort, and safety on board.
The duration of these works is to be confirmed by Nidco.
