One man was arrested this morning after police found a gun and ammunition at a house in Diego Martin.
According to police reports, at around 1 am, officers of the Western Division Operations Unit and Western Division Task Force, were on mobile patrol along Ali Trace, Rich Plain, Diego Martin, when they saw two men standing in the roadway.
As the men saw the approaching police vehicles they ran into a nearby house. The officers gave chase and held both men. A search was conducted during which the officers found one Glock pistol fitted with an extended magazine and seven rounds of nine-millimetre ammunition tucked in the waist of one of the men.
A 28-year-old man, of Upper Rich Plain Road, Diego Martin, was arrested for possession of a firearm and ammunition. The exercise was spearheaded by Snr Supt Kelvern Thompson and Supt Henry and coordinated by ASP Baird, Insp Reyes, Sgt Carmona, and supervised by Ag Cpls Ramnarine and Dominique. PC Blades is continuing investigations.
