One man was ar­rest­ed this morn­ing af­ter po­lice found a gun and am­mu­ni­tion at a house in Diego Mar­tin.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, at around 1 am, of­fi­cers of the West­ern Di­vi­sion Op­er­a­tions Unit and West­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force, were on mo­bile pa­trol along Ali Trace, Rich Plain, Diego Mar­tin, when they saw two men stand­ing in the road­way.

As the men saw the ap­proach­ing po­lice ve­hi­cles they ran in­to a near­by house. The of­fi­cers gave chase and held both men. A search was con­duct­ed dur­ing which the of­fi­cers found one Glock pis­tol fit­ted with an ex­tend­ed mag­a­zine and sev­en rounds of nine-mil­lime­tre am­mu­ni­tion tucked in the waist of one of the men.

A 28-year-old man, of Up­per Rich Plain Road, Diego Mar­tin, was ar­rest­ed for pos­ses­sion of a firearm and am­mu­ni­tion. The ex­er­cise was spear­head­ed by Snr Supt Kelvern Thomp­son and Supt Hen­ry and co­or­di­nat­ed by ASP Baird, In­sp Reyes, Sgt Car­mona, and su­per­vised by Ag Cpls Ram­nar­ine and Do­minique.
