There has been one new death from COVID-19 in Tobago over the past 24 hours, with the victim being an unvaccinated person. The death toll on the island now stands at 248.
According to the latest update from Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection, in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), dated, the last death from COVID-19 recorded in Tobago was on Saturday March 12th. That person also was unvaccinated.
The Division also is reporting in its updated for Thursday 17th March 2022 that four (4) more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Tobago. These new infections bring the number of current active infections on the island to 432.
Currently, 17 people are hospitalised with COVID-19, 13 of whom have not been vaccinated at all against the disease, while four (4) people have been fully vaccinated.
The Division’s update also notes that at present, the total number of people in Tobago who have recovered from COVID-19 since March 2020, now stands at 6,997.
