Prince, a kitten who had been trapped on top of a 50-foot coconut tree in Caroni for almost 24 hours, has finally been rescued.
The 7-month-old kitten climbed the tree yesterday afternoon to escape several dogs in the area. However, he became trapped. His owner, Ann-Marie Rambarran, posted about the incident on social media, seeking help to rescue the kitten. Following the post, many joined in her call for help as they prayed for his safety.
Thankfully, Prince was rescued this afternoon by several T&TEC workers, including Nigel McTair, Leon Marchan, Naresh Ramasar, and Dameon Guerra.
The company, when contacted by Guardian Media, said, “We became aware of the story much like everyone else, through social media. There was no hesitation; we felt there was no way to leave the kitten out there any longer. A crew was dispatched to assist, and it was brought down safely. We're very happy to bring some joy to a clearly distraught family.”
