Per­sons us­ing the South­ern Main Road in La Brea can ex­pect a tem­po­rary traf­fic dis­rup­tion over the next cou­ple of weeks, as the Min­istry of Works and Trans­port car­ries out Road Re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion works.

The dis­rup­tion will be along the South­ern Main Road, from the Pitch Lake in La Brea to Nurse Street in Cap de Ville, and be­gins to­day, Sun­day 8th Au­gust 2021.  The Min­istry’s ad­vi­so­ry says the re­ha­bil­i­ta­tive road works should wrap up by Fri­day 20th Au­gust 2021.

The ad­vi­so­ry notes that day works will be car­ried out dur­ing the hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, while night­works will run from 9:00pm to 4:00 am.

In light of the above, the Min­istry is urg­ing mo­torists to:

■   Pro­ceed with cau­tion and ob­serve all di­rec­tion­al signs and bar­ri­ers.

■   Com­ply with in­struc­tions from Po­lice Of­fi­cers on site to fa­cil­i­tate a safe and or­der­ly flow of traf­fic.

■   Be aware of heavy equip­ment en­ter­ing and ex­it­ing the site.

■   Dri­ve with cau­tion on all milled (pos­si­bly un­even) sur­faces.

■   Dri­ve at a re­duced speed on ap­proach­ing the work zone.
