Po­lice Com­mis­sion­er Er­la Hare­wood-Christo­pher says God con­tin­ues to play a ma­jor role in the work of the po­lice and is op­ti­mistic that with his as­sis­tance progress would be made.

Hare­wood-Christo­pher made the re­marks dur­ing her ad­dress at the TTPS in­ter­faith ser­vice at the Cathe­dral of Im­mac­u­late Con­cep­tion, George Street, Port of Spain, on Sun­day.

In March, 2023, Hare­wood-Christo­pher prompt­ed mixed re­spons­es dur­ing her ad­dress at the Greater Ch­agua­nas Cham­ber of Com­merce meet­ing where she called for di­vine in­ter­ven­tion to as­sist in crime-fight­ing ini­tia­tives.

“The po­lice could come up with what­ev­er strat­e­gy, but un­less we en­list the help of God, we will be work­ing in vain.”

In her brief ad­dress on Sun­day Hare­wood-Christo­pher again called for God’s as­sis­tance in quelling the vi­o­lence in TT.

“We know with God’s grace and with his help, we will suc­ceed.

The tides will turn and we will see the suc­cess we de­sire.”

In her two minute long ad­dress, Hare­wood-Christo­pher al­so thanked Fa­ther David Khan for his sug­ges­tion of faith-based or­gan­i­sa­tions part­ner­ing with in­tel­li­gence in­sti­tu­tions.
