Two men were arrested after police seized a gun, ammunition and cannabis during two exercises in Trinidad and Tobago.
According to police reports, during the first exercise, police searched a house on Windward Road, Pembroke, in Tobago. During the search, police found a bag containing 82 grammes of cannabis and a Taurus .38 firearm with a laser light attachment.
The gun was loaded with six rounds of .38 ammunition and one additional round. A 36-year-old man was arrested and taken to the Roxborough Police Station.
In another exercise, officers attached to the Toco and Mathura Police stations executed a search warrant at the home of a 39-year-old labourer where they found 308 grammes of cannabis. The man was subsequently arrested and charged. He is expected to appear before the Sangre Grande Magistrates’ Court.
