Two men were ar­rest­ed af­ter po­lice seized a gun, am­mu­ni­tion and cannabis dur­ing two ex­er­cis­es in Trinidad and To­ba­go.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, dur­ing the first ex­er­cise, po­lice searched a house on Wind­ward Road, Pem­broke, in To­ba­go. Dur­ing the search, po­lice found a bag con­tain­ing 82 grammes of cannabis and a Tau­rus .38 firearm with a laser light at­tach­ment.

The gun was loaded with six rounds of .38 am­mu­ni­tion and one ad­di­tion­al round. A 36-year-old man was ar­rest­ed and tak­en to the Rox­bor­ough Po­lice Sta­tion.

In an­oth­er ex­er­cise, of­fi­cers at­tached to the To­co and Mathu­ra Po­lice sta­tions ex­e­cut­ed a search war­rant at the home of a 39-year-old labour­er where they found 308 grammes of cannabis. The man was sub­se­quent­ly ar­rest­ed and charged. He is ex­pect­ed to ap­pear be­fore the San­gre Grande Mag­is­trates’ Court.
