The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) has appointed Professors Raffie Hosein and Andrew Jupiter as Honourary Professors in Teaching and Research within its Energy Systems Engineering Unit. Their three-year tenure, starting on September 1, 2024, will support the university’s energy programme. This was disclosed in a media release issued by UTT on Monday.
Professor Raffie Hosein, a petroleum engineer, has worked in both academia and industry. He has held roles such as Petroleum Engineer with Trinidad and Tobago’s Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries and Senior Associate Professor at Texas A&M University in Doha.
Professor Andrew Jupiter, a leader in Trinidad and Tobago’s energy sector, has held the position of President of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (T&T). His work has influenced national energy development and policy.
UTT has also awarded the title of ‘Emeritus’ to Professor Winston H.E. Suite, a civil engineering and construction expert. Professor Suite has served on major national boards, including NIDCO.
