The 62-year-old vendor who was shot in the leg during a brazen shooting in Port-of-Spain on July 29 has died.
Ann Marie Frederick, who sold goods between Queen Janelle Commissiong and George Streets for more than 40 years, was caught in the daylight (3.45 pm) crossfire that left Shakiri Henry, of lower Nelson Street, and three others (including her) injured.
Guardian Media understands that Frederick, a diabetic, spent weeks in the hospital and was recently discharged.
But on Tuesday evening, she started having problems breathing and was rushed to hospital, where she later died.
Her daughter, Onika Frederick, said doctors believe her death could be due to complications from the gunshot wound.
The brazen shooting was one of two to occur in Port-of-Spain in the month of July.
The Homicide Bureau is continuing investigations.
