Parts of South-West Trinidad can ex­pect a dis­rup­tion in their pipe-borne wa­ter sup­ply for a few hours on Wednes­day 13 Ju­ly 2022, ac­cord­ing to an ad­vi­so­ry from the Wa­ter and Sew­er­age Au­thor­i­ty.

WASA ex­plains that the in­ter­rup­tion will be be­tween the hours of 5:00 am and 8:00 pm on Wednes­day. A lim­it­ed truck-borne ser­vice will be avail­able up­on re­quest.

The wa­ter au­thor­i­ty says the dis­rup­tion is nec­es­sary in or­der to fa­cil­i­tate re­pairs to a leak­ing 24-inch di­am­e­ter pipeline, at LP #55 along the north­bound lane of the Point Fortin High­way—in the vicin­i­ty of the Mon­de­sir Over­pass. 

In ad­di­tion, WASA in­tends to car­ry out planned elec­tri­cal main­te­nance work at the South Oropouche Boost­er Sta­tion on that date, which al­so will im­pact the wa­ter ser­vice in Trinidad’s South-West.

WASA ex­pects to be­gin restor­ing the wa­ter sup­ply by 8:00 p.m. on Wednes­day 13th Ju­ly 2022, but re­minds cus­tomers it may take up to 24 hours for the sup­ply to nor­mal­ize to some af­fect­ed ar­eas, fol­low­ing the com­ple­tion of these works.

Ar­eas to be af­fect­ed in­clude:

La Brea, Ves­signy, Union Vil­lage, Sobo, Union In­dus­tri­al Es­tate, Li­bid­co In­dus­tri­al Es­tate, Quar­ry Set­tle­ment, Quar­ry Road; along SS Erin Erin Road from Siparia Mar­ket to Cor­ner Fyz­abad Field Trace; San­ta Flo­ra, La Brea Trace, Su­dama Vil­lage; along Guapo Road, from Mulchan Trace to Fyz­abad Junc­tion; Kat­wa­roo Trace, Pati­ram Trace, Ra­goo­nanan Trace, Batchyia Trace, 1 Mile Mark Rock Road, La Coste­na, Dil Mo­hammed, Debe­di­al Road, Boodoo De­vel­op­ment.
