Parts of South-West Trinidad can expect a disruption in their pipe-borne water supply for a few hours on Wednesday 13 July 2022, according to an advisory from the Water and Sewerage Authority.
WASA explains that the interruption will be between the hours of 5:00 am and 8:00 pm on Wednesday. A limited truck-borne service will be available upon request.
The water authority says the disruption is necessary in order to facilitate repairs to a leaking 24-inch diameter pipeline, at LP #55 along the northbound lane of the Point Fortin Highway—in the vicinity of the Mondesir Overpass.
In addition, WASA intends to carry out planned electrical maintenance work at the South Oropouche Booster Station on that date, which also will impact the water service in Trinidad’s South-West.
WASA expects to begin restoring the water supply by 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday 13th July 2022, but reminds customers it may take up to 24 hours for the supply to normalize to some affected areas, following the completion of these works.
Areas to be affected include:
La Brea, Vessigny, Union Village, Sobo, Union Industrial Estate, Libidco Industrial Estate, Quarry Settlement, Quarry Road; along SS Erin Erin Road from Siparia Market to Corner Fyzabad Field Trace; Santa Flora, La Brea Trace, Sudama Village; along Guapo Road, from Mulchan Trace to Fyzabad Junction; Katwaroo Trace, Patiram Trace, Ragoonanan Trace, Batchyia Trace, 1 Mile Mark Rock Road, La Costena, Dil Mohammed, Debedial Road, Boodoo Development.
