Kadan Jam­mer­son net­ted twice and Nazism Mar­tinez once Tuesday to give Ari­ma Boys RC a 3-0 win in the semi­fi­nal of the Boys’ Un­der-12 Di­vi­sion in the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion’s Na­tion­al Pri­ma­ry Schools Foot­ball League when they met arch-ri­vals San Fer­nan­do Boys RC at the Man­nie Ramjohn Sta­di­um in Mara­bel­la.

Ari­ma Boys RC, a mul­ti­ple-time win­ner of this ti­tle, is ea­ger­ly ex­pect­ed to win the ti­tle again this sea­son. How­ev­er, de­spite the re­sult, ri­val San Fer­nan­do Boys RC did not back down and fought coura­geous­ly to the end.

Jam­mer­son put the con­fi­dent Ari­ma Boys RC ahead in the first half. As the bat­tle con­tin­ued, his team­mate Mar­tinez put them fur­ther ahead in the 26th minute be­fore Jam­mer­son got his sec­ond item of the match to seal the win.

Ari­ma Boys RC will be aim­ing to win yet an­oth­er Trinidad ti­tle.

The Ari­ma-based team will have to be at its best to get the bet­ter of the Port-of-Spain and En­vi­rons cham­pi­on team, the In­ter­na­tion­al School of Port-of-Spain (ISPS).

In the oth­er semi­fi­nal, ISPS gave Cumana SDA a 7-0 beat­ing at the Ari­ma Velo­drome.

As ear­ly as the fifth minute of the match, Con­nor Knag­gs put ISPS in­to the lead with a well-placed right-foot­er. Two min­utes lat­er, Jax­son Rizk gave them a two-goal lead be­fore Knag­gs got the oth­er two goals in the first half. The half-time score was 4-0.

In the sec­ond ses­sion, Cuman SDA lift­ed their game but ISPS would not back down and in­creased the lead to five goals to nil when Pernek Walkins scored with a well-placed shot. Then, it was the turn for Jose Soli­man to get on the score­sheet af­ter forc­ing two big saves from the Cumana SDA’s goal­keep­er. Soli­man raced down the left side and cut in­side be­fore hit­ting with his right foot past the Cumana SDA goal­keep­er. In the fi­nal three min­utes, Rizk got his sec­ond with a great right-foot­er which sailed in­to the net.

With the Trinidad Leg of the Na­tion­al Pri­ma­ry School Cham­pi­onship, reach­ing the fi­nals stage on Tues­day when the em­pha­sis will be on the two re­main­ing teams to try to up­keep their tra­di­tion or al­low a new cham­pi­on to be crowned.

Semi­fi­nal ac­tion in the Na­tion­al Pri­ma­ry Schools Foot­ball League will con­tin­ue with the U-15 Boys to­day and the U-15 Girls to­mor­row.

All Trinidad win­ners will meet their To­ba­go coun­ter­parts for the Na­tion­al Fi­nal on No­vem­ber 26 at the Diego Mar­tin Sport­ing Com­plex.
