Sa­lome Bai­ley and Daryn Prince stood out at the week­end when the T&T Cy­cling Fed­er­a­tion con­clud­ed a four-month Track Cy­cling Se­ries League at the Ari­ma Velo­drome.

Bai­ley car­ried the Madon­na Wheel­ers flag with pride as she led a two-girl field in the Youth De­vel­op­ment for Un­der-7 rid­ers, ahead of Pre­cious Son­ni­lal of Rigtech Son­ics. The tiny fig­ure of Son­ni­lal has al­so shown her­self to se­lec­tors as a tal­ent to be aware of in the fu­ture, but at the week­end she could not get ahead of the dom­i­nant Bai­ley, cross­ing the fin­ish line for the gold medal.

In the boys' equiv­a­lent, it was Prince of the Va­por Wake Mul­ti­sport club prov­ing his worth with a con­vinc­ing ride that pro­pelled him ahead of sec­ond-place Ori­on Dan­drade (Madon­na Wheel­ers), the grand­son of Rac­ing Chair­man Gre­go­ry Dan­drade, and third Za­yne Vier­ra, who rep­re­sent­ed Va­por Wake Mul­ti­sport.

The youth de­vel­op­ment event for girls' U-9 al­so pro­duced a spec­ta­cle on the day, cour­tesy of Madon­na Wheel­ers' Leah Mitchell who ped­alled away with the gold medal in style, leav­ing her col­league Xhariya Alexan­der (Madon­na Wheel­ers) and Abi­gail Titte of the Rigtech Son­ics in her trail.

In the girls' U-13 cat­e­go­ry, An­nal­yse Wat­son en­tered the race in the third po­si­tion, need­ing to seal the win to lift the over­all ti­tle. How­ev­er, she failed to hold off Scar­lett Thorne of Ari­ma Wheel­ers, who un­leashed a burst of speed that earned her the win and top award.

Wat­son set­tled for the run­ner-up po­si­tion while Lisa Joe Bood­hoo of Rigtech Son­ics was third.
