The 11 vol­ley­ball clubs which re­quest­ed that the T&T Vol­ley­ball Fed­er­a­tion hold a Spe­cial Gen­er­al Meet­ing (SGM) is still wait­ing on a no­tice which will state the date, venue and time for the meet­ing.

On April 12, af­ter the re­quest was made by the clubs led by Col­in Charles, the Pres­i­dent of South­ern Unit­ed Vol­ley­ball Acad­e­my (SU­VA), the T&TVF led by Pres­i­dent, at­tor­ney-at-law Nicole Selvon agreed to meet at the Cen­tral Re­gion­al In­door Sports Are­na (CRISA), Ch­agua­nas.

The SGM was first re­quest­ed back on March 25 ac­cord­ing to Sec­tion 8 of the T&TVF Con­sti­tu­tion when the re­quest was made by the 11 clubs, with many oth­ers sup­port­ing, signed a con­sti­tu­tion­al­ly recog­nised pe­ti­tion aimed at re­mov­ing  Del­e­gate Vice-Pres­i­dent Vaughn Mar­tin.

The oth­er club rep­re­sen­ta­tives in­clud­ed for­mer ex­ec­u­tive mem­ber De­on Hutchin­son (West Side Stars), Tami­ka Chan­dler (West Side Trend­set­ter), Mac­sood Ali (Uni­ver­si­ty of West In­dies), Richard Lera (Smash­ers), Sadera­mi Williams (West Side Dream Team), Win­ston Samuel (Sec­ondary Schools Vol­ley­ball League), Kan­hai Sir­ju (Chal­lengers), Stacey Dick­son (BIG South East Port-of-Spain), Gideon Dick­son (Po­lice Vol­ley­ball Club), Naresh Koono (Vish­nu Boys Vol­ley­ball), Nolan Tash (Uni­ver­si­ty of South­ern Caribbean) and Ste­fan Sa­hai (Na­pari­ma Co­horts Vol­ley­ball Club).

How­ev­er, af­ter Selvon agreed to the meet­ing, Charles, in re­ply said the de­lay in in the T&TVF re­sponse made it im­pos­si­ble to have the right per­sons present for the said meet­ing as Caribbean Zon­al Vol­ley­ball As­so­ci­a­tion Pres­i­dent Mush­taque Mo­hammed and T&T Olympic Com­mit­tee (T&TOC) pres­i­dent Bri­an Lewis were both at­tend­ing the April 4-15 Com­mon­wealth Games in Gold Coast, Aus­tralia, while for­mer T&TVF Pres­i­dent, Daymi­an Stew­art was in Mex­i­co as an of­fi­cial at the open­ing leg of the 2018 Norce­ca (North, Cen­tral Amer­i­ca, and Caribbean Vol­ley­ball Con­fed­er­a­tion) Beach Vol­ley­ball Cir­cuit.

In their lat­est ap­peal to the T&TVF to set a date for the SGM, Charles in his email to Selvon on April 22nd, stat­ed: Just an­oth­er re­minder that to­day (April 22nd) is 15 days un­til May 7th and if we're to have the meet­ing on that said date, April 23 is the lat­est date you'll need to in­form the nec­es­sary in­di­vid­u­als and clubs of the Spe­cial Gen­er­al Meet­ing with the date, time and lo­ca­tion.

The T&TVF board is cur­rent­ly re­duced to four per­sons name­ly Hans Man­war­ing (2nd Vice Pres­i­dent),  Gen­er­al Sec­re­tary Cherese De Sil­va, Mar­tin and Selvon.

This af­ter Eva Nunez (trea­sur­er), Lor­raine David (as­sis­tant trea­sur­er), De­on Hutchin­son (1st Vice Pres­i­dent), Crys­tal Williams-Joe­field (as­sis­tant sec­re­tary), Shushan­na Mar­shall (board mem­ber), Leroy Ser­a­pio (pub­lic re­la­tions of­fi­cer), Saleem Ali (board mem­ber) and Nolan Daniel, who was the To­ba­go rep­re­sen­ta­tive re­signed their po­si­tions.

This was fol­lowed by the res­ig­na­tion of Lyn­don Sim­mons who on­ly joined the board fol­low­ing the res­ig­na­tion of  Ser­a­pio.
