Nu-Iron Un­lim­it­ed in its con­tin­u­ing in­ter­est in the de­vel­op­ment of youth through ed­u­ca­tion and sports was pleased to be a co-spon­sor of a young na­tion­al box­er, Tian­na Guy in her cam­paign to par­tic­i­pate at the 2018 Elite Women's Con­ti­nen­tal Cham­pi­onships.

The Fine Line Fight Fac­to­ry based Feath­er­weight pugilist, along with coach­es Ria Ram­nar­ine and Bhar­rath Ra­moutar, was giv­en a much-need­ed boost when Nu-Iron agreed to spon­sor the air­line tick­ets to Cara­cas, where the com­pe­ti­tion is tak­ing place un­til Sep­tem­ber 19th.

The Nu-Iron Team said it was a plea­sure to sup­port Guy. They have com­ment­ed that it was com­mend­able to have such a promis­ing young fe­male box­er and they were quite hap­py to be part of her jour­ney.

Gen­er­al Man­ag­er Jon Mc­Cauley pre­sent­ed Guy and her team with the air­line tick­ets at Nu-Iron's Point Lisas of­fices, and he re­it­er­at­ed that their com­pa­ny will con­tin­ue to sup­port the youth of T&T and said they are look­ing for­ward to the re­sults of the cham­pi­onships.

Coach Ram­nar­ine said that the ded­i­cat­ed box­er had be­gun prepa­ra­tion right af­ter the CAC games in very ear­ly Au­gust. "De­spite the fact, we had no fund­ing, and we al­so had to fund our ju­nior fe­male box­er at the same time in a Guyana event, the train­ing re­mained in full swing. We knocked on sev­er­al doors, most go­ing unan­swered. When Nu-Iron agreed to as­sist, it was a huge re­lief. We are most thank­ful for this mean­ing­ful sup­port".

Ram­nar­ine said the Levy cost was al­so high­er than usu­al and it was a strug­gle to raise the funds. How­ev­er, thanks go out to Life­time Roof­ing, Build to Last Hard­ware, Cush­ion­flor Ltd. and Coun­try Bar, as well as a few good samar­i­tans who wished to re­main anony­mous.
