T&T had a relatively quiet day on the second day of the Pan American Cycling Championships in Aquascalientes, Mexico on Wednesday. After setting a new Pan American record in the team sprint with Christopher Sellier and Azikwe Kellar on Tuesday, Njisane Phillip went on to place fourth in the Men's keirin final. The event was won by Venezuela's Hersony Canelon while Bajan Barry Forde and Columbia's Leonardo Romero filled out the runners up and third place positions respectively.
Adam Alexander placed 16th out of 27 riders in the Men's scratch race final. At the top of the list was Columbia's Carlos Alberto Ospina Hernandes, who was followed by American Cody O'Reilly in second and Luis Mansilla of Chile in third.
In other events, the American trio of Dotsie Bausch, Sarah Hammer and Lauren Tamayo set a new world record when they finished the women's team pursuit in 3:19.569. They defeated Cuba (3:29.232) in the final. Meanwhile, Columbia's Juan Pablo Suarez beat his countryman Juan Esteban Aranjo to win the men's individual pursuit.
T&T's riders were scheduled to race in the Kilometre yesterday evening while the sprint, omnium and madison are to be contested today.
