T&T se­nior men's foot­ball team de­fend­er Jesse Williams was one of two new sign­ings an­nounced by Unit­ed Soc­cer League Cham­pi­onship Di­vi­sion out­fit Pitts­burgh River­hounds on Tues­day.

The 20-year-old who was re­cent­ly at­tached to North­ern Ire­land's Co­le­ri­ane FC and 27-year-old for­ward William Eyang of Cameroon were an­nounced as two more play­ers signed for the up­com­ing sea­son.

Both Williams, for­mer­ly of East Mu­cu­rapo Sec­ondary, and Eyang have signed to one-year con­tracts with a team op­tion for the 2023 sea­son, pend­ing USL and U.S. Soc­cer Fed­er­a­tion ap­proval.

Last sum­mer, Williams made his se­nior in­ter­na­tion­al de­but less than a month af­ter his 20th birth­day, play­ing 90 min­utes at right back in a 2-0 Con­ca­caf World Cup First Round qual­i­fy­ing win over St Kitts/Nevis.

He made two more ap­pear­ances for the So­ca War­riors at last sum­mer's Con­ca­caf Gold Cup, where he played along­side his new Hounds team­mates, both de­fend­ers as well, Je­lani Pe­ters and Mekeil Williams.

“Jesse is a young play­er with a high ceil­ing who we want to de­vel­op here in Pitts­burgh,” said Hounds coach Bob Lil­ley said. “He can play as an out­side back or de­fen­sive mid­field­er and brings strong ball-win­ning qual­i­ties to our group.”

Williams is cur­rent­ly in Bo­livia with the An­gus Eve se­nior na­tion­al T&T team prepar­ing for a friend­ly in­ter­na­tion­al against that coun­try in Su­cre on Fri­day along­side Mekeil Williams.
