HSM Motors will resume operations on a phased basis from today. HSM CEO Mikhail Hosein said part of the gutted showroom and service centre would remain closed, however. He explained that over the weekend, an area in the showroom was converted into a workspace.
Hosein said he was doubtful that investigators had made any headway in finding the perpetrators that torched 15 luxury vehicles resulting in millions in losses and damage last Thursday at the company’s Southern Main Road, Chase Village location.
Hosein said there had been a few rumours circulating, including one that the owners of nearby properties were refusing to share CCTV footage with the police. He said this was false.
To the south of HSM is Miracle Ministries, to the north is a bar, and to the west—three residential properties. There are no buildings to the east. Hosein said claims on social media that a man had been arrested were also false.
Last Thursday, between the hours of 3 and 4 am, arsonists jumped the fence at HSM’s Chase Village Carapichaima operations on Thursday and torched 15 vehicles by breaking the glass of the cars, pouring an accelerant believed to be gasoline into the vehicles and setting them ablaze.
