One sus­pect was held and three firearms and quan­ti­ties of am­mu­ni­tion seized by of­fi­cers dur­ing on­go­ing in­tel­li­gence-led an­ti-crime ex­er­cis­es con­duct­ed across the coun­try on Tues­day.

In the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion, Task Force of­fi­cers con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise be­tween 5 pm and 10 pm on Tues­day, dur­ing which they ex­e­cut­ed a search war­rant at a house in the En­ter­prise dis­trict.

Dur­ing the ex­er­cise, of­fi­cers found and seized one firearm, 47 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion, pieces of cam­ou­flage cloth­ing, two wire­less de­vices and a hand­cuff.

Mean­while, in the North East­ern Di­vi­sion, Task Force of­fi­cers along with of­fi­cers of the Mara­cas Bay and San Juan Po­lice Sta­tions pro­ceed­ed to the Mara­cas Bay area where they found one Beretta pis­tol loaded with nine rounds of am­mu­ni­tion.

And in the West­ern Di­vi­sion, of­fi­cers con­duct­ed an in­tel­li­gence-led ex­er­cise in the Care­nage dis­trict, be­tween 3 pm and 7pm on Wednes­day, dur­ing which they pro­ceed­ed to Fran­cois Street.

Up­on ar­riv­ing at the lo­ca­tion, the of­fi­cers ob­served one sus­pect with a bag in his pos­ses­sion. The man looked in the di­rec­tion of the

of­fi­cers and then ran off. He was caught a short while lat­er hid­ing in­side a near­by house

One Glock pis­tol loaded with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing 10 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion was found in the 21-year-old sus­pect’s pos­ses­sion. In­ves­ti­ga­tions in­to all the above mat­ters are on­go­ing.
