One suspect was held and three firearms and quantities of ammunition seized by officers during ongoing intelligence-led anti-crime exercises conducted across the country on Tuesday.
In the Central Division, Task Force officers conducted an exercise between 5 pm and 10 pm on Tuesday, during which they executed a search warrant at a house in the Enterprise district.
During the exercise, officers found and seized one firearm, 47 rounds of ammunition, pieces of camouflage clothing, two wireless devices and a handcuff.
Meanwhile, in the North Eastern Division, Task Force officers along with officers of the Maracas Bay and San Juan Police Stations proceeded to the Maracas Bay area where they found one Beretta pistol loaded with nine rounds of ammunition.
And in the Western Division, officers conducted an intelligence-led exercise in the Carenage district, between 3 pm and 7pm on Wednesday, during which they proceeded to Francois Street.
Upon arriving at the location, the officers observed one suspect with a bag in his possession. The man looked in the direction of the
officers and then ran off. He was caught a short while later hiding inside a nearby house
One Glock pistol loaded with a magazine containing 10 rounds of ammunition was found in the 21-year-old suspect’s possession. Investigations into all the above matters are ongoing.
