Mu­sic Mae­stro con­tin­ued the great form of cham­pi­on train­er Glenn Mendez when he scored an im­pres­sive three length vic­to­ry in the fea­ture Re­strict­ed Hand­i­cap over 1,200 me­tres on the main track at San­ta Rosa Park, Ari­ma, yes­ter­day. Mendez sad­dled the first two past the post in Mu­sic Mae­stro and Cobalt Star. When the starter sent the field of sev­en on their way Mu­sic Mae­stro and sta­ble­mate Cobalt Star were the first to show. These were fol­lowed Car­ni­val Mu­sic and High Dol­lar har­ry with Miss Julie in touch. At the far turn Mu­sic Mae­stro and Cobalt Star con­tin­ued their bat­tle for the lead and sep­a­rat­ed them­selves from re­main­der of the field head­ed by Car­ni­val Mu­sic and High Dol­lar Har­ry.

At the cor­ner Mu­sic Mae­stro was lit­er­al­ly hand­ed the race when main chal­lenger Cobalt Star went a lit­tle wide off the cor­ner. From that point Christo­pher Jadoo al­lowed the Er­rol Sta­bles owned five-year-old to run away with the $17,500 first prize cheque. High Dol­lar Har­ry Stayed on for third. Mu­sic Mae­stro record­ed the time of 1:12.80 for the trip. Rac­ing how­ev­er, had an­oth­er set-back when pun­ters were up in arms af­ter jock­ey Ron Ali fell off favourite For­ward Track­ing in the open­ing event. One irate punter said "No­body should come back to the track, af­ter view­ing how Ali fell off that horse. Look at the re­play and see how he fell off."

Ap­pren­tice Alan Pod­more was the day's hero land­ing three win­ners on the sev­en race card. Pod­more was al­so astride All For You Babes and Dad­den.
