Count of Anjou is fit and rarin' to go for division one of the Maiden Stakes over seven furlongs of Lingfield polytrack today. What beats Richard Hannon's charge will surely win! Fitness remains at issue and a recent close third to?Balducci, in a similar race at Newmarket, gives Count Of Anjou the call on my time-handicap, which suggests both Robinson Cruso and Faithful One are the only likely serious rivals.
Neither has raced this season. The likelihood is that Count Of Anjou will trade, at least, at 4/1 and if that's the case, I'll play the Lion Heart colt a 'professional special' each-way bet. Law Of The Range should be on target for Darryll Holland, in the Maiden Stakes over the straight Doncaster mile. Marco Botti's charge shaped well when third on debut seventeen days ago.
Holland, hopefully, will be allowed to adopt a positive approach. There isnone better from the front and if Law Of The Range improves, there can only be one winner, unless there's a mystery among several newcomers. Richard Fahey has made a wonderful start and Layla's Dancer is fancied to retirve recent losses, in the eight-runner Yorkshire Handicap over the round mile.
