Digicel Play customers in Tobago were the first to experience two new channels–Catch and Catch 2–on the company's Fibre TV service. CEO Garvin Medera made the announcement at a media event at the company's office on Shirvan Plaza.
"Digicel Play through its partnership with International Media Content Ltd (IMC) and SportsMax, has launched two new exciting entertainment channels, Catch and Catch 2, jam-packed with even more great content for customers to enjoy.
"These include multi-award-winning drama series Law and Order, Law and Order SVU and Law and Order CI, popular sitcoms like Modern Family and adult Family Guy, Tyler Perry's comedy-drama series For Better or For Worse, as well as reality TV programmes: Tamar and Vince, starring Tamar Braxton and the most successful TV news magazine in history–60 Minutes."
Medera also made another ground-breaking announcement with the development of Play Go an app that allows customers to access Digicel Play content on the go.
"We understand that our customers want great content, anytime and anywhere, so come June Digicel Play ensures you never miss a moment wherever you are. We have spoken about the multi-screen that connects up to five devices in your home. Now we have created an app that allows you to view TV content outside of the home on a Wifi connection."
The news was met with great excitement from those gathered. With 90 per cent population coverage of Tobago and over 50 per cent coverage in Trinidad and growing, Digicel Play continues to deliver on its promise since launch on January 8 to provide nationwide coverage of affordable, best in-class, broadband, fibre TV and landline services.
