Queen's Royal College (QRC), one of the historic Magnificent Seven in Port-of-Spain, has been given a 3D remodelling.
To commemorate the fusion of technology and education, QRC old boy and CEO of Blueprint Manufacturing Systems Ltd (BMS) Reinaldo Martinez, said BMS donated the school's building model as the company's contribution to the ongoing efforts of encouraging investment by corporate sponsors in the maintenance of the main building, Science and North blocks, a release said.
Nine-inch replica models of the college are available for sale.
The donation further seeks to highlight the global advances in technology and encourage Royalians to get involved in the modern manufacturing movement as well as other developing technologies.
BMS was founded in March, 2014, and Martinez, along with fellow director Jelani Daniel, hope to position the company as a "manufacturing and innovation hub, where creative and corporate clients link to realise ideas, prototypes and concepts."
BMS offers services such as custom manufacturing of products using advanced CAD/CAM processes, as well as traditional manufacturing, avant-garde marketing, branding and event solutions.
The company is one of several successful participants of the National Integrated Business Incubator System (Ibis). The Ibis programme falls under the Enterprise Development Division of the Ministry of Labour & Small and Micro Enterprise Development and is implemented by the National Entrepreneurship Development Company Ltd (Nedco).
The aim of the programme is to provide a one-stop shop for all the support services required by small and micro businesses. Ibis provides entrepreneurs with one-on-one mentorship, training, financing and office space.
