The Gov­ern­ment of Grena­da is ex­plor­ing the pos­si­bil­i­ty of get­ting T&T's as­sis­tance to set up a state en­ter­prise to ad­vance use of In­for­ma­tion and Com­mu­ni­ca­tion Tech­nol­o­gy (ICT) for a more ef­fec­tive gov­ern­ment.Alvin Da Breo, Grena­da's Min­is­ter of State in the Min­istry of Com­mu­ni­ca­tions and Works, Phys­i­cal De­vel­op­ment, Pub­lic Util­i­ties and ICT, views this as an im­por­tant step in im­prov­ing ef­fi­cien­cy and de­liv­er­ing gov­ern­ment ser­vices to all Grena­di­an na­tion­als.

Dr Ru­pert Grif­fith, Min­is­ter of Sci­ence and Tech­nol­o­gy, along with Adam Montserin, iGovTT CEO, and Raye Sandy, Per­ma­nent Sec­re­tary of the Min­istry of Sci­ence and Tech­nol­o­gy, re­cent­ly re­ceived the vis­it­ing Min­is­ter for ICT talks.iGovTT is a spe­cial pur­pose com­pa­ny charged with the the de­sign, de­vel­op­ment and de­ploy­ment of ad­vanced ICT so­lu­tions for the Gov­ern­ment.

Its ttcon­nect mul­ti-chan­nel ser­vice net­work of­fers cit­i­zens con­ve­nient ac­cess to gov­ern­ment in­for­ma­tion and ser­vices with­in their com­mu­ni­ties, on­line in their homes, and on the go via their mo­bile phones, there­by re­duc­ing the need for lengthy com­mutes to Gov­ern­ment of­fices.iGovTT col­lab­o­rates with lo­cal and in­ter­na­tion­al ICT com­pa­nies to de­ploy rel­e­vant ser­vices for min­istries and agen­cies.

Its ICT in­fra­struc­ture will soon be up­grad­ed and ex­pand­ed and the com­pa­ny con­tin­ues to work with Gov­ern­ment agen­cies to bring ad­di­tion­al pub­lic ser­vices and in­for­ma­tion on­line.
