The Con­tem­po­rary Chore­o­g­ra­phers Col­lec­tive, Co­co, pre­sent­ed its dance fes­ti­val at the Queen's Hall last Thurs­day to Sun­day. The fes­ti­val pro­vides tal­ent­ed lo­cal chore­o­g­ra­phers with a plat­form for ex­per­i­men­tal and cut­ting-edge chore­og­ra­phy.

More dance pro­duc­tions and re­lat­ed events will con­tin­ue this week­end and will fea­ture per­for­mances rang­ing from bal­let to con­tem­po­rary to folk to In­di­an.

The No­ble Dou­glas Dance Com­pa­ny Inc is col­lab­o­rat­ing with the Venezue­lan dance com­pa­ny, Fun­daci�n Coreoarte, to fa­cil­i­tate two ad­vanced dance work­shops from 10 am to noon on Sat­ur­day and Sun­day.

On that night, the No­ble Dou­glas Lil­liput Foun­da­tion for the Arts will present Ve­ci­nos...We are Neigh­bours, at Queen's Hall. An­dre Eti­enne Dance Com­pa­ny will host its pre­miere ap­pear­ance at Queen's Hall with Sym­bol­ic Re­ten­tions on Oc­to­ber 25, while the Mar­cia Charles Dance Com­pa­ny will em­bark on a Jour­ney on No­vem­ber 1, to mark its 15th an­niver­sary.

The Bent­ley Pot­ter School of Dance will be putting on Dreams of the Bal­let at Christ­mas which plays on the 12 Days of Christ­mas on No­vem­ber 8 and 9.

The dance fest ends on No­vem­ber 10 with a pre­sen­ta­tion by the Shiv Kala Dance Com­pa­ny en­ti­tled Nritya Kaa Aanan­da. Shiv Kala, with its 15-mem­ber cast, will be show­cas­ing four clas­si­cal styles of In­di­an dance for the first time on one stage.
