The Contemporary Choreographers Collective, Coco, presented its dance festival at the Queen's Hall last Thursday to Sunday. The festival provides talented local choreographers with a platform for experimental and cutting-edge choreography.
More dance productions and related events will continue this weekend and will feature performances ranging from ballet to contemporary to folk to Indian.
The Noble Douglas Dance Company Inc is collaborating with the Venezuelan dance company, Fundaci�n Coreoarte, to facilitate two advanced dance workshops from 10 am to noon on Saturday and Sunday.
On that night, the Noble Douglas Lilliput Foundation for the Arts will present Vecinos...We are Neighbours, at Queen's Hall. Andre Etienne Dance Company will host its premiere appearance at Queen's Hall with Symbolic Retentions on October 25, while the Marcia Charles Dance Company will embark on a Journey on November 1, to mark its 15th anniversary.
The Bentley Potter School of Dance will be putting on Dreams of the Ballet at Christmas which plays on the 12 Days of Christmas on November 8 and 9.
The dance fest ends on November 10 with a presentation by the Shiv Kala Dance Company entitled Nritya Kaa Aananda. Shiv Kala, with its 15-member cast, will be showcasing four classical styles of Indian dance for the first time on one stage.
