Trend-set­ting Car­ni­val band­leader Michael Headley, now re­tired from mas, is mak­ing a mas on the is­land's North Coast at his idyl­lic Playa del Este Re­sort in Saly­bia. Hav­ing de­vel­oped the site in­to a thing of beau­ty, Headley con­tin­ues to add even more at­trac­tions to the premis­es, the lat­est be­ing a se­lec­tion of hand-picked bands to per­form at the venue. Said Headley, who now refers to him­self as Senor Miguel Fi­del Cabezamenet, the week af­ter Car­ni­val: "I am pro­vid­ing Trin­bag­o­ni­ans, and vis­i­tors to our shores, with a spe­cial all-in­clu­sive ex­pe­ri­ence, un­like any oth­er, any­where else on the plan­et, every first Sat­ur­day, of every month in the year. I will be hir­ing bands with good brass and bass, play­ing dance­able mu­sic, not like what ex­ists as mu­sic these days. "I am al­low­ing guests and pa­trons the choice of sip­ping ex­ot­ic cock­tails, lay­ing back in a ham­mock or jacuzzi over­look­ing the At­lantic Ocean, or to re­lease them­selves while en­joy­ing the mu­si­cal vi­bra­tions from my pri­vate and cher­ished col­lec­tion."

Rem­i­nisc­ing on mu­sic played at one time by Joey Lewis, Dutchy Bros, Pe­te de Vlught, Mano Mar­cellin and Clarence Cur­van, Headley refers to most of to­day's mu­sic as "BL.A.BL mu­sic" ('Bass Less and Brass Less') Headley added: "What I am pro­vid­ing is an ex­pe­ri­ence out­side of the Car­ni­val that will give vis­i­tors a taste of Tri­ni cul­ture fea­tur­ing World Mu­sic, as well as the best of lo­cal cui­sine, in­clud­ing in­dige­nous fare like bhuljol, cho­ka, bake, toolum, phu­lourie, sug­ar cake, sa­heena, pone, chilli bib­bi, sug­ar cake, fudge, and sno-cone, every month." The sea­soned par­ty pro­mot­er promised to al­so in­clude his brand of mu­sic at his pop­u­lar Car­ni­val Sun­day Danc­ing in the Sanc­tu­ary "ul­tra-in­clu­sive"?par­ty, held at Wind­sor Road, Val­sayn, and sched­uled for Feb­ru­ary 10, 2013.
