DJ Sounds of Kabuki (Kevin Grayson) held his Black Affair last Saturday at the La Hoya Complex in St Joseph. For 16 years, the veteran DJ has themed his parties after the colours of the national flag.
This is the first of its kind for the year, with the White and Red editions to follow. "Black," explained the popular disc jockey, "also means beautiful, lovely, adorable, charming and kissable."
This acronym adequately describes the caliber of beautiful mature women that have been loyal to the party over the years. Last year, after returning from a trip to Europe, I went directly to the party. I wasn't going to miss it for the world this year. The event was held at the St Joseph venue in 2010 for the first time because of the overwhelming response in 2009.
It was previously held at Bregon Park in Arima. Models dressed in ancient roman outfits, accessorised with swords, and bows and arrows lined the back of the party. A welcomed addition to the party, music was provided by Kevin Baker, Dangerous Robyn, CG, Sensational Sammy and Kabuki himself.
