The Aloxxi brand of hair care products has formally entered the local market in style. Businesswoman Asha Maraj is the exclusive distributor of the line. Last Sunday five women–who quite possibly gave up a day on the beach and or other family events citing the beautiful weather that obtained–nestled themselves in styling chairs at Hairline Day Spa in Maraval, owned by Giselle Thong to undergo a transformation using the Italian lifestyle line and emerged fabulous. Jo-Ellen Cole, Jaclyn Dumas, Nikkelle Tyrish-Ali, Anessa Haidarali and Kari Dival were the subjects who offered themselves to be part of the product demonstration conducted by Aloxxi's corporate trainer Ian "Gav" Gavet. Gavet schooled this group of hair-care professionals on the proper use of the product for maximum results and satisfaction to their potential clients. The models were visibly pleased with their new looks.
Cole originally had natural brown hair, but emerged a smiling red-head, while Tyrish-Ali who was semi-blonde was far more golden at the end of the session. Dumas had long desired to be a blonde. But on assessing her hair type Gavet determined that when mixed with the chemical compound the fair-headed result would not be achieved. Instead, her curly dark brown hair was straightened and coloured. Dumas gingerly bounced out of the chair a brunette. But Gavet would not see her dream to be fair-headed crushed entirely. He dipped into his wonder bag and produced a blonde hair extension piece. All in the room marveled at the augmentation to her appearance when applied and Dumas looked like she had received a new lease on life.
Haidarali, a make-up artist by profession and Daval weren't originally enlisted for a makeover, but, it seemed, they were bitten by the bug. Already sporting hair that was dark brown in colour Gavet recommended she go a few tones lighter. He then trimmed it using a laser cutting technique, which seemed entirely new to the gathering as communicated in their wowed expression. Unlike Cole's red-head finish which was long and voluminous, Daval's was short, but no less sexy. Asha Maraj, exclusive distributor of the Aloxxi's line lauded the effort of hair care practitioners who came out for the demonstration.
She expressed the hope that would make the Aloxxi brand part of everyday life in T&T. Nadia Deering, director of international sales at Aloxxi International Corporation said T&T was just one of the new markets in which the company hoped to become a household name over the next five years. She pointed to other island in the Caribbean as well as Central and Latin America where the product line was being aggressively marketed. She said last month the company invested close to US$50 million in its marketing campaign world-wide.
