D an­ce has tak­en the spot­light at Di­vali Na­gar cel­e­bra­tions over the past few days.

Vis­i­tors to the Na­gar in Ch­agua­nas saw per­for­mances from sev­er­al lo­cal dance groups, in­clud­ing the Shiv Shak­ti Dance Com­pa­ny; Am­ri­tam Shak­ti Dance Group; SK Dance Acad­e­my; Nri­tan­jali The­atre For the Arts & Cul­ture and the Rad­ha Kr­ish­na Dancers.

The cos­tumes, stage light­ing and the mu­si­cal ac­com­pa­ni­ment all blend­ed well to en­hance the per­for­mances.

Na­tion­al Coun­cil for In­di­an Cul­ture (NCIC) sec­ond vice-pres­i­dent Su­ru­jdeo Man­groo said lo­cal artistes are be­ing show­cased this year at the event.

He said, “We have a lot of tal­ent in T&T and I be­lieve that we are on par with for­eign artistes. So, we at the NCIC, are giv­ing that much need­ed push to our artistes, es­pe­cial­ly our youth, so they can de­vel­op with each pass­ing sea­son.”
