Trinidad and To­ba­go’s rep­re­sen­ta­tive to the Mrs Woman of the Uni­verse beau­ty pageant has been fly­ing this coun­try’s flag high.

Di­anne Molli­no has al­ready cap­tured two of the pres­ti­gious ti­tles in the lead-up to the fi­nale of the com­pe­ti­tion—Best Artis­tic Na­tion­al Cos­tume and Best Body. The 47th Mrs Woman of the Uni­verse pageant is be­ing held in Turkey.

Molli­no, 42, a flight at­ten­dant with Caribbean Air­lines, will know if she will ad­vance fur­ther in the pageant to­day.

Na­tion­al di­rec­tor of the lo­cal fran­chise for the com­pe­ti­tion, Alvea­da Meah-Boodoo, an­nounced Molli­no’s strides and re­ferred to her as “T&T’s Black Bar­bie,” say­ing she stands a good chance to cap­ture the pres­ti­gious ti­tle.

Wear­ing a cos­tume de­signed by Ram­ban­shuss Car­ni­val, dubbed Kiskadee Ser­e­nade, Molli­no’s por­tray­al stood out among the 38 del­e­gates from oth­er coun­tries around the world.

The Val­sayn moth­er of two will take to the stage in the for­mal wear cat­e­go­ry of the pageant this morn­ing in a gown from Stitch­es de­signed by Re­na in San Fer­nan­do.
