The Form Two year group of Bishop Anstey High School East in Trincity hosted the first Cake Picnic on March 23 with a variety of artisan cakes in a number of flavours, including Boston Cream, Marble, Red Velvet, Lemon Blueberry, to name a few, on display.
Students were allowed to sample the cakes of their choosing. But the event transformed into a Willy Wonka-inspired fairytale affair, filled with colour and creativity, showcasing the school spirit and camaraderie, offering students a joyful escape from academic routines while nurturing their mental well-being and social growth. An impromptu fashion show unfolded, with students confidently showing off their stylish outfits, while a lively conga line weaved its way through the space, drawing everyone into the rhythm of the moment.
The school’s Dean, Candice Jagan-Spicer, extended heartfelt thanks to parents for their continued support and to teachers for their unwavering dedication. She praised the collective spirit that made the Cake Picnic a success and expressed her enthusiasm for hosting the event again next year, promising an even bigger, more enjoyable, and memorable experience for all.—Roger Jacob
