Bellissima Balloons and Ginger Lily Organics TT, led by founder and eco-enthusiast Daychelle Morris, is intensifying its mission to promote environmental responsibility through a growing series of creative, hands-on workshops for children and adults.
Morris, an avid hiker for the past six years, created Ginger Lily Organics TT out of a deep appreciation for Trinidad and Tobago’s flora and fauna. Her micro-business produces a range of organic, vegan and cruelty-free soaps, scrubs, body butters and eco-friendly candles inspired by Caribbean scents such as Sugar Cane & Bamboo, Toco Sunrise, Chaconia, Frangipani and Ginger Lily. Several soaps are also named after beloved nature spots like Turure Water Steps and Avocat Waterfall, helping highlight the country’s eco-tourism appeal.
Her workshops blend creativity with environmental education—a vital focus, given the World Bank’s ranking of Trinidad and Tobago as the world’s highest producer of municipal solid waste per capita. Morris believes this makes early environmental awareness essential.
“There’s a real disconnect,” she said. “We need to teach children not to pollute our waterways and to understand how toxins and plastics harm marine life and the wider food chain.”
Bellissima has hosted several themed workshops, including the Mermaid Dreams Workshop in Chaguanas in 2022, where teens crafted organic soaps and body products while learning about ocean conservation from Ocean Literacy advocate Mertrina On November 22 Bellissima held its first eco–soy candle-making workshop, teaching participants—including children as young as four—how to create sustainable, plant-based candles using recyclable glass jars.
The company also collaborates with local organisations such as Totally Toco and recently sent a custom soap sample box to the Healing with Horses Sanctuary in Buccoo, Tobago.
Bellissima’s upcoming workshops include Discovering the Essence of You on March 7, 2026, a bespoke fragrance experience in celebration of International Women’s Day at a private poolside venue in St Ann’s.
