Ashta Sidhi Nav Nidhi Ke Daataa, presented by the Shiva Gana Organisation to celebrate Hanuman Jayanti, the birthday of Shri Hanuman was held at the Divali Nagar in Chaguanas last Saturday.

The celebrations included 108 Shri Hanuman pujas, the singing of the Hanuman Chalisa, Ramayana Stotras and 108 Hanuman Gayatri mantras.

The number 108 is sacred, according to Vedic cosmology, as it is the basis of creation and represents the universe, cosmic energy and divine connection’

Known as a Harshad number, it is an integer divisible by the sum of its digits. 1+0+8 =9. It is also divisible by 9. In astrology, that number can be noticed with the approximate relationships of the Sun, Earth, and Moon.

The diameter of the Sun is 108 times the diameter of Earth. The distance from the Sun to Earth is 108 times the diameter of the Sun. The distance from the Earth to the Moon is 108 times the diameter of the moon.

Hanuman’s spiritual father is Vayu, the wind god, hence he is called the son of the wind and is represented by the colour red.

Officiating pundit Iswar Madho Maharaj was joined by Pundits Jewan, Narindra,Mahindra, Satesh, Satyam, Sarveshm and Luka Maharaj.
