“To every­thing there is a sea­son, and a time to every pur­pose un­der the heav­en: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is plant­ed; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gath­er stones to­geth­er; a time to em­brace, and a time to re­frain from em­brac­ing; a time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep si­lence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.” (Ec­cle­si­astes 3:1–8).

King Solomon wrote in the book of Ec­cle­si­astes, “To every­thing there is a sea­son and a time to every pur­pose un­der heav­en.”

In a nut­shell, what is be­ing said by him is that things do not just hap­pen by chance, but in life, the things that we may go through can be a sea­son that we are in, and even the ful­fil­ment of pur­pose has time at­tached to it.

We read in Gala­tians 4:4&5: “But when the full­ness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made un­der the law, to re­deem them that were un­der the law, that we might re­ceive the adop­tion of sons. Our Lord and Sav­iour Je­sus Christ’s com­ing, be­ing cru­ci­fied and re­deem­ing the hu­man race, had a time con­nect­ed to it.

The above scrip­ture clear­ly states, “But when the full­ness of the time was come.” The God that we serve is well-or­gan­ised and wise, who deals with sea­sons and tim­ing. Our very life al­so has sea­sons and tim­ing; there­fore, we must be care­ful when there are cer­tain things tak­ing a pe­ri­od of time to be man­i­fest­ed. God knows best, and while we may want every­thing that we so de­sire to hap­pen right away, I en­cour­age you to wait on God, for He will speak. Moses, af­ter killing an Egypt­ian, fled to the desert, spend­ing years tend­ing to the flock of his fa­ther-in-law Jethro, but his pur­pose was there to lead Is­rael out of Egypt. Moses was be­ing pre­pared for his pur­pose, and when the time was right, God got his at­ten­tion, spoke to him, em­pow­er­ing him and re­leas­ing him in­to his pur­pose.

Just where you are may just be a sea­son you are go­ing through; these sea­sons take place in life. Do not al­low it to frus­trate you or be­come a bur­den that brings on dis­cour­age­ment, for that too will pass. The Word of God de­clares in Habakkuk 2:3: “For the vi­sion is yet for an ap­point­ed time, but at the end it shall speak and not lie. Though it tar­ries, wait for it, be­cause it will sure­ly come; it will not tar­ry. Two things I want to draw your at­ten­tion to in this scrip­ture: first­ly, the vi­sion has as part of its ful­fil­ment an ap­point­ed time, and sec­ond­ly, what is very cru­cial, we need to ex­er­cise pa­tience by wait­ing for it.

Look­ing at things in our per­son­al lives, do not go around look­ing for fast fix­es; al­low God to have His way. He knows best. You are not for­got­ten; God is work­ing on your be­half. I have seen in my life­time peo­ple who sim­ply can­not wait for God’s tim­ing and refuse to wait on God’s di­rec­tive end up mak­ing a mess of some­thing that was good and meant to be a bless­ing for them. A bib­li­cal ex­am­ple is Saul, who failed to obey the Word of God and paid the price of be­ing re­ject­ed by God as king: “For re­bel­lion is as the sin of witch­craft, and stub­born­ness is as in­iq­ui­ty and idol­a­try. Be­cause thou hast re­ject­ed the word of the Lord, he hath al­so re­ject­ed thee from be­ing king.” (1 Samuel 15:23). This refers to Saul, who failed to fol­low in­struc­tion. Nev­er al­low what you are go­ing through to cause you to make rash de­ci­sions, for the pres­sures of life can cause this to hap­pen. Stay in charge and al­ways in con­trol; be lev­el-head­ed at all times.

God loves you, and He is aware of your heart’s de­sire, as­pi­ra­tions, and plans. He said in Je­re­mi­ah 29:11, “For I know the thoughts that I think to­ward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an ex­pect­ed end.” Once you stay con­nect­ed to Him by hav­ing a per­son­al re­la­tion­ship, be­lieve me, your busi­ness be­comes God’s con­cern. Je­sus said in John 15:7: “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done un­to you.” Sea­sons do change and times pass; con­tin­ue be­ing faith­ful, trust­ing in God, for He is on your side.
