LT. COLONEL (RE­TIRED) WEN­DELL “ROCK” SA­LANDY de­part­ed this life on Jan­u­ary 11, 2026, af­ter a brief ill­ness. He was the hus­band of Glen­da Sa­landy (de­ceased) and Di­anne Piper Sa­landy; son of Theodore “Bio” Sa­landy and Beat­rice “Mer­cer” Sa­landy (both de­ceased); fa­ther of Bren­non (Isis) and Re­na­ta Sa­landy and Mar­lon (Rachel) Mer­ritt; step­fa­ther of Der­ren and De­siree Joseph; and grand­fa­ther of Liam and Tyreece Sa­landy, and Oba and Os­ei Mer­ritt. He was the broth­er of Esme Mer­cer, Her­man Sa­landy (de­ceased), Lenore Dedi­er (de­ceased), Venice Babb, Gur­ley Sa­landy, Nor­man Sa­landy, Good­will Sa­landy, Earnest Sa­landy (de­ceased) and Rose Ann Scar­bor­ough (de­ceased); and broth­er-in-law of Myr­nell Chap­pin, Ray­lene Piper-Camp­bell and Karen Piper. He was the close friend of Pat James, Brigadier (Re­tired) Carl Al­fon­so and oth­ers. The fu­ner­al ser­vice will take place on Sat­ur­day 17th Jan­u­ary, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. at St. John’s Ro­man Catholic Church, Church Street, Diego Mar­tin, fol­lowed by in­ter­ment at the Mil­i­tary Ceme­tery, Long Cir­cu­lar Road, St. James
