As the countdown to Carnival intensifies, Passage to Asia is setting the tone for the season with not one, but two high-energy, ultra-premium events that promise music, indulgence, and signature flair.
Chief executive officer of Passage to Asia, Dipchand Persad, told Guardian Media that the brand will mark its 14th anniversary with its flagship all-inclusive fete on February 1 at the Moka Golf Club, Maraval. The celebration will feature an impressive cast of performers, including Raymond Ramnarine and Dil-e-Nadan, Nailah Blackman and Michael Teja—artistes known for delivering crowd-pleasing performances and authentic Carnival vibes.
Persad reflected on the evolution of the fete, which first began in 2014 at the Trinidad Hilton before moving across several venues over the years. In 2023, the event found what Persad believes could be its permanent home at the Moka Golf Club carpark, where it was warmly received by patrons and critics alike.
Building on that momentum, Passage to Asia will stage its second major event, Moka Extreme, on Carnival Sunday at the same venue. That fete boasts a powerhouse lineup featuring Bunji Garlin, Fay Ann Lyons, Ravi B, Karma, Iwer George and Nailah Blackman, ensuring a night packed with soca, chutney and high-octane performances.
With its carefully curated entertainment and all-inclusive luxury, Passage to Asia continues to cement its place as a must-attend experience on the Carnival calendar. —Shastri Boodan
