“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me and find me when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”
(Jeremiah 29:11–13).
The prophet Jeremiah is writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and God is speaking on that occasion to Israel, letting them know His desire for them as a nation. God has a desire for every human being, and as the scripture clearly states, it is not one of evil but one of good nature. Despite where you are at this present juncture of your life, God wants the best for you.
Jesus Christ said in John 10:10: “The thief cometh not, but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” There are two things I would like to point out about the above scripture. Firstly, there is someone whose plan is evil at all times against you, “the thief,” but on the positive aspect, Jesus said, “I came that you may have life and have it more abundantly.”
That life spoken of in this context is primarily eternal life, but let me suggest that while you journey on earth, God’s wish for you is that you live a fruitful and successful life.
The Apostle John wrote in 3 John: 2: “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” John is declaring over the life of God’s servant Gaius prosperity and good health in the now. God wants the nations of the earth to be blessed. He said to Abraham in Genesis 12:1 to 3: “Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will show thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” I want you to pay special attention to the closing portion of the scripture, “And in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” Abraham was the catalyst for God’s blessing to spread throughout the world. We are all part of this, hence the reason for me saying, “We all deserve the best.”
The question I know that may be on the mind of many is “How come I am not seeing this in my life?” That is a very good question, for people have asked me this on many occasions. Permit me just to share some things that may be worth your consideration. Firstly, let me ask, how do you see yourself? What is your mindset? I have shared what God’s desire is for your life. Do you believe what I have shared? It is a partnership between you and God, working together to experience what I am talking about. Your beliefs are important and play a very significant role in your success and in enjoying a fulfilled life today.
Jesus Christ said in Matthew 9:29: “According to your faith be it unto you.” This, to me, is the foundation, for without faith it is impossible to please God. Firstly, faith in God, then faith in yourself: “Yes, you can.” The second thing I would like to share has to do with you making full use of what God has placed in you as a person. I am fully persuaded that there is something in every one of us that, if discovered, used, and managed, can make us shine and be the person you can be proud of.
The big problem with many people is that they spend their time admiring others’ talents and giftings instead of discovering their own and using them to become the best that they can be.
My friend, you deserve the best, and there are things in you to make this become a reality. Jesus said in John 8:32: “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” The truth is written in God’s word; when you grasp knowledge of it and walk in its fullness, your life is changed for the better. I want to encourage you, do not settle for a little when God has much more for you. If you are not careful, the best of us can become victims of all this under the guise of being religious.
I close with this: there are those who believe that one of the signs of being humble is having lack in your life. Humility is a state of the heart and not what you possess, for you can have wealth and still be humble.
Get all that the Father has for you in this life, fulfil His purpose, and stay faithful with your life committed to God always.
Be the best you. May God richly bless you.
