As part of the Malick Folk Performing Company’s (MFPC) ongoing efforts to foster a love for and develop all aspects of the Performing Arts, We Kinda Christmas The Concert was held at NAPA on Sunday, December 4 featuring performances by the Company, FCB Supernovas Steelband, T&T Prison Service Band, Roderick “Chuck” Gordon, Zee TV Shiv Shakti Dancers, Los Alumnos de San Juan, The Guerra Sisters and Jeron Hackett under the patronage of the Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation.
The Malick Folk Performing Company CMT was founded in 1979 under the artistic directorship of Norvan Fullerton and is the holder of a national award, the Chaconia Medal Silver. The non-profit organisation is registered with the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and The Arts and the Ministry of Legal Affairs with the objective of fostering a love for and developing all aspects of the performing arts while promoting the indigenous culture of Trinidad and Tobago locally, regionally and internationally.
In keeping with their vision of continuous training, learning, sustainability, continuity and succession planning, the company is structured consisting of the Senior Company and the Junior Company, which was founded in 1991, for young members between the ages of three and 16 years.
