Participants were trained in Christmas baking, curtain and drapery, and jewelry making. This course helped the graduates to expand on what they learnt by being self-sufficient, catering for themselves or as a business initiative.
The ceremony to mark the end of the classes was held at the San Fernando North Community Centre. Jaglalsingh commended the women for exhibiting what they learned in a short space of time and urged them to explore viable options.
He also had high praises for the lecturer who came through the Community Development Programme.
“The programme is geared towards the Christmas season, once a year. It is a short course for trainees to take part in to earn some income for the season. It was a successful outcome. The tutor is excellent, hence, the class had a good work production. Some already began to sell products they learnt.”
