Two “IdeaHub Screens” were donated to the Fire Service to support its National Incident Command System (NICS).
These are expected to assist in its fire fighting operations through “real-time, high-quality video,” a release from Amcham T&T said.
The presentation was made at the opening ceremony of Amcham T&T’s recent 26th Annual HSSE Conference.
The organisation secured the screens from Phoenix Park Gas Processors Limited (PPGPL).
“Some time ago, the T&T Fire Service asked us for support for their NICS. Given our focus on increasing digitalisation and promoting HSSE best practices in T&T, we are delighted that our relationships with our members resulted in the provision of support for this special request,” Nirad Tewarie, CEO of Amcham T&T explained.
Dominic Rampersad, president of PPGPL who made the presentation to Arnold Bristo, chief fire officer said, “As we reimagine our world, we also have to reimagine not just our companies but the role that our companies play in providing a service to our communities—and digitisation doesn’t stop at the fenceline of our companies.”
Bristo, who thanked Amcham T&T and PPGPL for the donation also asked companies to continue their commitment to improve health and safety in T&T. “Health and safety is everybody’s business,” Bristo said adding, “Sometimes companies spend quite a lot of investment into bringing their companies online and pay very little attention to the investment they would have made and how to protect it.
He also called on society to pay more attention as this will the reduce the risk of exposure to losses as well as the loss of employment.
