At­lantic LNG yes­ter­day an­nounced that the com­pa­ny had se­lect­ed a new CEO, Don­nie Brown, who re­places Jean An­dre Ce­lestain, whose ap­point­ment was ef­fec­tive Oc­to­ber 1, 2024.

In a news re­lease yes­ter­day, the com­pa­ny dis­closed Brown as­sumed the role.

Brown re­cent­ly served as se­nior vice pres­i­dent, safe­ty and op­er­a­tional risk as­sur­ance (S&ORA) at BP be­fore tak­ing up the po­si­tion at At­lantic.

The com­pa­ny said in the re­lease, “He brings over three decades of ex­pe­ri­ence across both up­stream and down­stream oil and gas op­er­a­tions, with a strong track record in op­er­a­tional ex­cel­lence and lead­er­ship in com­plex in­dus­tri­al en­vi­ron­ments. Over the course of his ca­reer, Don­nie has held se­nior lead­er­ship roles at BP’s Texas City Re­fin­ery, De­catur Petro­chem­i­cals, Alas­ka Ex­plo­ration & Pro­duc­tion, and the Whit­ing Re­fin­ery. His lead­er­ship is ground­ed in a com­mit­ment to safe­ty and the de­liv­ery of sus­tained val­ue in com­plex, high-per­for­mance en­vi­ron­ments, un­der­pinned by a strong fo­cus on peo­ple and the role they play in dri­ving per­for­mance.”

The re­lease said Brown has tak­en up the lead­er­ship at a time when At­lantic is ex­pect­ed to con­tin­ue to play an in­te­gral role in T&T’s en­er­gy sec­tor and broad­er econ­o­my.

At­lantic’s op­er­a­tions have re­cent­ly been iden­ti­fied by the NGC and in­ter­na­tion­al com­pa­nies BP and Shell, all of whom are share­hold­ers in its op­er­a­tions, as im­por­tant amid plans to ex­plore and de­vel­op gas fields which cur­rent­ly sit in or near Venezue­lan wa­ters.

At­lantic said, “As chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer, he will pri­ori­tise safe­ty, re­li­a­bil­i­ty, and ef­fi­cient op­er­a­tions in sup­port of na­tion­al en­er­gy and eco­nom­ic ob­jec­tives, while fos­ter­ing a cul­ture where peo­ple feel sup­port­ed, en­gaged, and aligned around shared goals.”
