Venture Credit Union Co-operative Society Ltd has appointed Roxanne Solomon as its chief executive officer.
The appointment is effective October 1.
Solomon first joined Venture on November 28, 2018 as its head of credit administration.
“Ms Solomon brings to Venture over 30 years’ experience working in the financial services sector in several leading roles both locally and regionally,” a release from venture stated yesterday.
Solomon is said to have worked 10 years in the retail/distribution sector at ANSA McAL, and almost 20 years with First Citizens Bank where she eventually left as a senior manager.
She also spent four years with the Royal Bank Of Canada as the first female Vice-President in the Caribbean for RBC (Canada) and member of the Caribbean Executive prior to the acquisition of RBTT. She was voted Woman Leader of the Year in 2008 for the Caribbean.
Solomon also spent two years with CIBC FirstCaribbean and three years at the Central Bank of Trinidad & Tobago in the role of Specialist Advisor to the Deputy Governor – Monetary Operations and Policy and played a key role in the project of the elimination of the one cent coin.
Solomon is said to be a past student of St George’s College, following which she went on to pursue a Certificate in Management Studies at the University of the West Indies.
She continued her education by pursuing the professional accounting designation—CIMA—the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of the UK and is a Fellow of the Institute.
