There will a fresh board in place at Unilever by the turn of the year.

On Mon­day, the com­pa­ny an­nounced Igna­cio Segares has been elect­ed the new Chair­man of Unilever Caribbean Lim­it­ed.

Segares, has been a part of Unilever group for 20 years, and cur­rent­ly holds the po­si­tion of Vice Pres­i­dent - Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor of Unilever’s Cari­cam (Caribbean and Cen­tral Amer­i­ca) re­gion.

He will re­place Ro­dri­go So­tomay­or, who has re­signed from the po­si­tion, to take up the role of Unilever’s Gen­er­al Man­ag­er for Colom­bia.

So­tomay­or’s res­ig­na­tion will take ef­fect from De­cem­ber 30, 2022, UCL con­firmed in a post on the Trinidad and To­ba­go Stock Ex­change.

In that post, UCL al­so an­nounced the res­ig­na­tion of Jorge En­rique  Ro­drigues Es­pinosa and Fabio Muril­lo Ben­deck as di­rec­tors of the com­pa­ny.

Their res­ig­na­tions will al­so take ef­fect on De­cem­ber 30, 2022.

Unilever con­firmed that Daniela Maria Bu­caro and Cami­lo Tru­jil­lo would be ap­point­ed as di­rec­tors from De­cem­ber 31, 2022.

It is the lat­est sig­nif­i­cant change for Unilever, which re­cent­ly placed its Champs Fleurs com­pound for sale.

Ear­li­er this year, Unilever shut down its man­u­fac­tur­ing arm in Trinidad, lead­ing to the re­trench­ment of over 100 work­ers.
