Scotiabank has named two new senior executives for its Caribbean South and East regions.
In notices posted to the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange and published in the media, Ambica Bissessar was named Head, Retail Banking Caribbean South & East, while Ingram Bain was announced as Director, Compliance, Caribbean South & East. Both appointments took effect on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
According to the notice, Bissessar is a highly respected banking leader with nearly two decades of service at Scotiabank, with multidisciplinary experience across finance, treasury, trade finance, corporate and commercial banking, as well as retail and small business banking. Her educational background includes a postgraduate qualification in Business Administration, with a specialism in International Trade and Finance from the Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University.
The notice also confirmed that Bain will assume the role of Chief Compliance Officer, following the interim appointment held by Denesh Abraham since January 17, 2026. Abraham, the notice stated, will continue to serve in his substantive role as Director, AML Operations and Transformation.
Bain was described in the notice as a seasoned banking professional with 35 years of experience and broad expertise across branch banking, collections, sales and marketing, internal audit, and regulatory compliance. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Derby (United Kingdom).
Last month, Scotiabank Trinidad and Tobago Ltd announced income after taxation of $161 million for the first quarter ended January 2026. This represented a decrease of $6 million, or 4 per cent, compared to the corresponding period in 2025.
