After over a year without one, Tourism Trinidad Limited (TTL) finally has a board of directors.
In a press release shared to social media, the Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism disclosed that a new 11-member board, chaired by Benedict Hatem, received its instruments of appointment from the Minister Satyakama Maharaj.
Tourism Trinidad had been without a board for nearly 15 months after the term of the previous board of directors ended on May 5, 2025.
According to the Ministry post, the board has been charged with leading TTL’s strategic direction and driving the continued growth and global positioning of Trinidad and Tobago’s tourism sector.
Hatem, who is the owner of Woodford Cafe restaurant, said he and his fellow board members are committed to strengthening the Visit Trinbago brand, ensuring it resonates as a beacon of excellence and authenticity across the globe.
Well known dancer and choreographer Michael Saalickram and soca artiste Orlando Octave were also named as members of the board. Other members of the board include Rennie Mohammed, Swamy Morgan, Indira Rambaran, Pramilla Ramdahani, Rene Seepersadsingh, Kalene Garcia-Gosyne, Andrea Bhagwandeen and Vedanand Hargobin.
